Setting Up User Roles and Access in Your Account
Managing user access in Turris allows you to delegate responsibilities and control who can perform specific functions within your account.
Read the step-by-step guide below or check out the video walkthrough.
Understanding User Roles
Turris currently offers four user roles, with more granular roles being developed:
Admin Role
- Full control over the account
- Can access all areas of the platform
- Can add and manage users
- Can perform all administrative tasks
Legal Role
- Primary function: Signing producer agreements
- Receives email notifications when agreements need signing
- Essential for dual-sign workflows where both the agency and MGA/wholesaler/carrier must sign
- Multiple users can have this role for redundancy
Compliance Role
- Access to compliance-specific documents and features
- Can complete and review compliance tasks
- Limited to compliance-related areas of the platform
Viewer Role
- Read-only access to the system
- Can view information but cannot take actions
- Ideal for stakeholders who need visibility without editing capabilities
Note: Additional roles are being developed based on customer feedback. If you have specific role requirements that don't fit these classifications, please contact support.
Adding New Users
Step 1: Navigate to User Management
- Go to the user management section of your account settings
- You'll see a list of current users and their assigned roles
Step 2: Add a New User
- Click Add User
- Enter the user's email address
- Select the appropriate role from the dropdown menu
Step 3: Email Validation and Invitation
- The system validates that the email address is formatted correctly
- Once validated, an invitation email is sent from Turris
- The invitation includes a simple one-step onboarding process
- New users will need to provide basic information to complete account setup
Step 4: Confirm User Addition
- The new user will appear in your user list immediately
- Their role assignment will be visible
- They can access the platform once they complete the onboarding process
Best Practices
- Assign Multiple Legal Roles: For business continuity, consider having more than one person with the legal role
- No Seat Limits: There's currently no cost per seat, so add all team members who need access
- Role-Based Access: Use the most restrictive role that still allows users to complete their tasks
- Regular Reviews: Periodically review user access and remove users who no longer need access
Email Notifications
Users with the Legal role will receive automated emails when:
- A new producer agreement needs signing (in dual-sign workflows)
- There are pending signature tasks
- Documents require their attention
Future Enhancements
The Turris team is actively developing additional roles to provide more granular access control. If your organization needs specific role types or permissions not currently available, please share your requirements with the support team.
